Uruz meaning

Uruz rune

Uruz is a very powerful rune. It is often considered energy rune, connected with the wild Tur – the ancient and powerful animal. I expected lots of energy and feeling energetic and in good shape. But Uruz turned much more than that, and I think courage and daring that is supported by Uruz wild energy is main Uruz meaning. I got to travel first in two years with Uruz and though I’ve dreamed about the trip the decision was a last minute one, when I felt I can and want to do it now, no more logical arguments and excuses

The Uruz week was one with my birthday, and it turned out great. Though I must admit at times I felt as I needed more energy and it was not always enough for my plans. But looking at the week now, it was a real breakthrough and I now think the gates form of Uruz rune has its meaning.

When thinking of Uruz as energy, we often look at it as a battery, but Uruz shows us we don’t always need to overcome anything spending the energy just because something is planned or expected. We have better uses for it. Uruz energy helps us to pursue our dreams and you can use Uruz when you need some drastic good change. When days look same and you feel you need a fresh breath use Uruz.

This post comes later than expected since I’ve made a last minute trip. I was checking weather in a city I dreamed visiting and it was suddenly great for the weekend, but just this weekend. Since the weather is usually rainy there I felt it was the right time and booked trip for next day. The planning & packing was really chaotic but turned out great. Uruz gave the push I needed and the energy to fulfill my dream. It was absolutely worth it. I think Uruz gives energy only for something important to you, you need to be really passionate about it to use the Uruz energy. Uruz energy is ancient and more intuitive one, your subconscious can tap into it, not logic.

I can’t say for sure, but I believe Uruz also has connections to our roots, since the city is my great grandma home city. Uruz is ancient earth power and I think it not only gives us energy but also connects us to our roots, our kin, family and tribe.

On side note there was half of day blackout with no electricity on Uruz week. It is rare by itself and was the longest in couple of years.

On the whole the second week of rune circle with Uruz felt even more like new begging then Fehu week. But I think Fehu is the preparation and the foundation and there’s no new beginnings without planting/preparing to make a big jump into the unknown. Fehu is ground, planning, Uruz here is courage and energy, while next rune Thurisaz would be the leap itself.
